"With a degree in Music Therapy, I always knew the "power" of music on people and
seeing Deke do his drum circle only reinforces this. I witnessed him during a drum
circle in the Alzheimer's Unit and it was truly amazing to see the responses he received
from the residents."

To whom it may concern:
As the daughter-in-law of a resident of Worthington of Adams Assisted
Living center, I've enjoyed many of the drum therapy sessions conducted
by Deke Kincade. My mother-in-law looks forward to "the day the
drummer comes to visit".
On my last visit, as I sat in the drum circle with the residents, I couldn't
help but let my imagination wonder about the types of lives these elderly
people once lived. Soon after the session started, I didn't have to use my
imagination at all, with every song and beat of Deke's drum, I witnessed it . . ."

Wellness is more than the
absence of illness. It is the
presence of something that arises
when we listen carefully to what
nourishes us most.
Life Sounds are joyful
demonstrations of this inner spirit.
This presence is always in rhythm!
It is there to provide focus, peace,
and mindfulness. It is there to
sustain us.
"Music and rhythm are more than sounds arranged in time and space. We create with
both the mind and the heart, affecting how we feel. Even as the drum circle produces
sound, it generates a balance of focused awareness and an internal center of quiet."
Deke Kincade
When we rest within this connection, we are all more capable of cultivating the ability to find ourselves and our way.
We our able to feel well again.
